Designed for heavy-duty lifting and towing, the Tow Truck is among Lego's most challenging, intricate model sets and is intended for serious model builders. It's a part of Lego's Technic line, which shows simplified versions of the workings of real heavy duty machines, such as farm and construction equipment. The set comes with 1,877 pieces and six full-color, illustrated instruction booklets that diagram tow truck model construction in 78 steps and the alternate model heavy-load truck in 95 steps, with many ministeps along the way. With that many pieces, it would be a good idea to grab a plastic portable organizer to make construction and storage a whole lot easier. Its real-world features include rear stabilizers, a working crane, rack-and-pinion steering, and a six cylinder engine with moving pistons and fan. Inside the box you'll find 25 part bags, 2 plastic rods, 10 plastic tires, a sheet of 20 decals, and the instruction booklets. Also included is an illustrated block inventory with part numbers, in case you need to ever re-order a replacement block.
